The Joy of the Bark Park

I discovered a wonderful new hangout.  It is called the Bark Park and all the cool dogs go there!!

Daddy likes going to the Bark Park too!!

Potty opportunities abound at the Bark Park...there are hydrants everywhere!

The most fun is getting to play with all the other dogs.  There are big dogs, little dogs, fat dogs, skinny dogs...plenty of diversity for sure!

Hi! I’m Taka Marie!

Hello, everyone! I’m Taka Marie! My real name is “Nitaka” – I was named for some mountain in Japan (my Dad has a thing about mountains), but “Taka” is just easier to say, and “Marie”, well, that’s just classy. I’m a miniature schnauzer who is an “only child” at my house. I came to live with Mom and Dad after their other two kids got too old and moved away from home. I think they needed someone to dote on and spoil, so here I am!

My Aunt Cheese says that I’m so cute that I need to have a blog. Also, my family does some pretty fun things, and I’d like to share our adventures with you. Here’s just a little bit about me to get you started:

Here I am at the pet store, before Mom brought me home:

When I first got there, they put me in a horrible wire dungeon when it was bed time (something about me going potty on Mom’s new rug in the middle of the night), but once I learned to potty outside, I got out of the dungeon and got to sleep in my own BIG GIRL BED!

No matter where I am (even on the furniture), I am always on the alert, and no one will ever be able to sneak up on us (I am very good at barking, too!):

My favorite foods? Well, I really like canned chicken, and chicken nuggets from any drive-through are quite tasty, too. But, what I really love is little cups of vanilla ice cream (lip-smacking goodness!):

I spend most of my days during the week protecting Mom and Dad, with an occasional nap, but my favorite-ist time of all is when the weekend comes. That’s when we go to my parents’ little cottage on the lake. There are so many things to do, see, smell, and bark at! Here I am in the kayak with my Dad (it is SCARY FUN!):

Well, enough about me…I will try to have my Mom take some pictures of our fun times and I will report to you later. (It might be a day or two because I need my Mom or my Aunt Cheese to help me.) Until then, stay as sweet as I am!
